D&H Distributing & Arco DPS Execute Distribution Agreement to Deliver data Protection Solutions
EzBackup™ Product Family Simplifies Backup and full Image restoreof data For the SMB and SOHO market.
Hollywood, FL, February 14, 2005 – D&H Distributing, the major national computer products and consumer electronics distributor, based in Harrisburg PA, announced it has entered into a new vendor agreement with Data Protections Solutions by Arco or DPS. DPS has been supplying Disk Mirroring products to OEM’s and vertical markets since 1989, and it has partnered with D&H to deliver its EzBackup™ family of products to the broad market.
There is a real need for simplified disk-to-disk back up solutions and business customers have identified this as a top IT priority in the coming year. “The customer base of D&H is a strong fit with DPS and D&H’s well-honed delivery channel. Customers will obtain these solutions quickly and efficiently,” states Itzik Levy, company CEO. “As growing storage requirements and the ongoing explosion of digital imaging continue to create new opportunities for VARs, D&H wants to fill those needs with more powerful and convenient solutions. Arco’s EzBackup technology makes hard disk-to-hard disk duplication a simple process for end-users, giving them the power to swiftly archive a range of data, whether backing up individual files or an entire hard drive,” said Dan Schwab, Vice President of Marketing at D&H Distributing. “We’re always looking for innovative partners in order to offer our resellers more and better choices than before, and the capabilities provided by Arco/DPS’s patented technology fill a gap in the underserved data protection category.”
The value of a full image backup and restore is the ability to backup all the files on the system in the identical format of the primary drive. This ensures that the restore takes minutes versus hours or days, which are typical with current technology such as tape or stand alone disk backup. “Since the data is identical and not compressed or encrypted, restores are virtually guaranteed. According to Storage Magazine, up to 77% of restores fail. What data are you willing to loose? Is it your payroll, customer data, receivables or payables?” states Itzik Levy, founder-CTO for DPS.
The company’s DupliDisk™ and EzBackup™ Product lines eliminate the costs of data loss by preventing its occurrence. A fully bootable image copy ensures that the system can be restored in a matter of seconds, versus hours. DPS’ family of products also removes the backup load from the host CPU, requiring no drivers, IRQs or TSRs. Furthermore, data security is greatly enhanced through the application of the company’s patent-pending Hidden Device Technology (HDT). HDT’s unique capability renders the backup drive invisible to the system and also to the user, requiring no customer intervention or scheduled commands. As stated by Levy, “we are providing our customers with an easy-to-use, enterprise-class solution at minimal cost, whether they’re SOHO, SMB or enterprise-level customers.”
About Data Protection Solutions
Headquartered in south Florida, Data Protection Solutions by Arco (http://www.ezd2d.com/) was founded in 1989. Its disk mirroring RAID controller and EzBackup™ disk-to-disk (D2D) product lines, powered by the company¹s patented DupliDisk technology, are designed to preserve the value of personal and corporate data. Data values are growing exponentially, and the high failure rate of tape-based backups and restores is a more serious threat to these values than ever. D2D backup provides cost-effective backup and storage up to terabyte capacity. It is now recognized as the “fail-safe” solution to data protection for enterprise, SMB and SOHO applications. The company serves both direct and OEM markets through distributors and resellers in the United States, Europe and the Far East.
