Tech Data, DPS
by Arco Conclude Distribution Agreement
Company's products feature
Patent-pending Hidden Device Technology
Hollywood, FL, December 20 - Leading
information technology products distributor
Tech Data with locations in 24 countries and
sales of $17.4 Billion dollars and Data
Protection Solutions by Arco have concluded
an agreement that will make the company's
line of patented backup and disk mirroring
products available through Tech Data's
worldwide distribution network. "We're
excited about partnering with a market
leader like Tech Data. DPS' disk mirroring
and backup solution is filling a tremendous
need in the IT marketplace. Current backup
solutions in the SOHO and SMB space have
fallen seriously short of protecting users'
data," said CEO Lawrence F. Steffann. "DPS
has brought the industry a new backup and
restore standard with our EzBackup™ family
of products. They provide ease of use,
consistently successful backups and the only
fail-safe, true image restore for all
edge-of-the-networks systems."
"Tech Data is very pleased to welcome DPS to
its family of premier information technology
suppliers," said Program Director George
Krouskos. "Our customer have been requesting
simple to use backup and restore product for
years. As edge of the network devices grow
dramatically the ability to execute simple
but sophisticated backup and restore has
become a challenge unmeet by the market. DPS
EzBackup™ product appear to fill this
bill"
DPS' OS-independent execution of the Disk 2
Disk (D2D) architecture, Steffann noted
enables the use of all standard ATA hard
drives. "Thanks to DPS patented and
patent-pending technologies, we lead the
disk mirroring community in the development
of D2D technology," he said. "The potential
demand for D2D backup in the SOHO and SMB
markets is huge, and we're poised to fill
that demand with fail-safe, hands-off data
protection."
Steffann quoted comments from leading
storage analyst Arun Taneja, Managing
Partner, The Taneja Group: "Just because a
company is small or medium size does not
mean that its data is any less valuable than
the largest of the large company's data. The
data protection issues faced with these
smaller companies today is no different
either, except they need a product that is
easy to deploy and to use."
The company's DupliDisk™ and
EzBackup™
product lines, Steffann noted, eliminate the
costs of data loss by preventing its
occurrence. "A fully bootable image copy
ensures that the system can be restored in a
matter of seconds, versus hours. We also
remove the backup load from the host CPU,
requiring no drivers, IRQs or TSRs." Data
security is greatly enhanced, he added,
through the application of the company's
patent-pending Hidden Device Technology (HDT).
"HDT's unique capability renders the backup
drive invisible to the system; it's also
invisible to the user, requiring no customer
intervention or scheduled commands. We're
providing our customers an easy-to-use,
Enterprise-class solution at minimal cost,
whether they're SOHO, SMB or
Enterprise-level customers. I believe the
benefit received by the Tech Data reseller
will only be surpassed by end user
satisfaction."
Headquartered in south Florida, Data Protection
Solutions by Arco (http://www.ezd2d.com/)
was founded in 1989. Its disk mirroring RAID
controller and EzBackup™
disk-to-disk (D2D) product lines, powered
by the company¹s patented DupliDisk technology,
are designed to preserve the value of personal
and corporate data. Data values are growing
exponentially, and the high failure rate of
tape-based backups and restores is a more
serious threat to these values than ever.
D2D backup provides cost-effective backup
and storage up to terabyte capacity. It is
now recognized as the "fail-safe"
solution to data protection for enterprise, SMB and SOHO applications. The company serves
both direct and OEM markets through distributors
and resellers in the United States, Europe
and the Far East. |
