After downloading the current Firmware version to your Arco supplied boot diskette please follow these instructions to assure that your Firmware is upgraded correctly.

NOTE: All the following files must reside on the same boot diskette. Do not use earlier versions of Dupli.exe with this firmware release.

FLASH INSTRUCTIONS! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
BEFORE you continue, PLEASE get the Firmware number that your DupliDisk2 is running. To do this use the Arco supplied DOS boot diskette, and run Dupli. At the "Status Screen" look on the bottom of the screen and record the Firmware version. If you're currently running ANY Firmware version of 1.20 or ABOVE to upgrade you can ignore these special instructions and perform the flash upgrade procedure from the Dupli.exe utility, then reboot the system with a power down cycle. If you ALREADY upgraded to 1.20 or above from 1.19 or below and DID NOT follow these instructions see the addendum HERE You can NOT ignore these special instructions in upgrading your Firmware if you are using any DupliDisk2 Firmware version at or below 1.19. Please follow the directions detailed below to upgrade to the attached release. For this upgrade to install correctly, please unzip the attached .zip file to our bootable disk, and follow these instructions.

1. Run Dupli, and UNINITIALIZE the drives, then power down.
2. Disconnect the mirror drive by either removing the data or power cable.
3. Start machine with the bootable disk and select Firmware upgrade from the configure menu, and follow prompts.
4. Reboot, run Dupli, and reinitialize then copy the drives.

FLASH INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU have already upgraded the Firmware without following the instructions above

If you already upgraded from DupliDisk2 Firmware VERSION 1.19 or below without following the procedure above, you MUST go back to the previous Firmware version before the code above 1.20 can work correctly. This is because the INITIALIZATION MUST be removed from the drives BEFORE upgrading the Firmware.

The DupliDisk stores the original Firmware as well as the upgrade on the DupliDisk. This is a convenient way of going back to a previous version, and we must revert the DupliDisk2 to that version before continuing.

You should have the new Firmware on the DupliDisk setup diskette before continuing. Start Dupli.exe from the command line, then after the status screen is displayed select Firmware UPGRADE from the Configure menu. Select the Firmware upgrade option, and answer yes to the upgrade prompts. When the progress indicator starts to move, SHUT THE MACHINE OFF! This will destroy the DupliDisk Firmware upgrade area, and revert the card to the original Firmware version that Arco applied when it left the factory.

From here simply go to item #1 above, and follow the directions on uninitializing the drives, and upgrading the Firmware.
