DD3 Boot CD-ROM with Firmware Upgrade V. 3.22 for DD3 ISA only

File Name: Dupli322_CD.exe

File Size: 611 KB

Installation Instructions

This download file is designed to help you create a bootable CD. The DupliDisk application software is designed to be installed on your computer and to run under Windows. If you are using an operating system other than Windows, such as UNIX or one of the newer versions of LINUX, and are unable to install the mirroring software on your hard drive, you can run the mirroring software from a bootable floppy disk.

If your computer lacks a floppy drive, you will need to boot and run the DupliDisk mirroring software application from your CD-ROM drive. This download file is designed to help you do that.

The .exe file provided here is a self-extracting file. After downloading it to your computer, double click on the file to create the required ISO file.

ISO files are special files used to create bootable CD-ROM disks. You cannot use this file to create a bootable CD-ROM disk by simply copying the files to another CD. The ISO is an image file and you must transfer the entire ISO image file intact, as a single unit, to a writable CD. Windows is not capable of doing this alone. To burn an ISO disk you will need a third-party CD writer. This software is generally provided with your hardware when you purchase a CD read/write drive and is also available from companies such as Roxio.

Follow the instructions in your particular disk burning software that describe how to create an ISO disk or how to perform an image copy. Burn the disk and mark it DupliDisk Boot Disk.

Place the CD in your CD-ROM drive and reboot your computer. Watch the monitor during boot up. Sometimes a message will appear asking you to strike a key if you wish to boot from the CD. (If the computer ignores the CD and boots up to your normal desktop, you may need to reset the boot sequence in the BIOS to boot first from the CD-ROM drive.)

Once the CD has been recognized and the boot up has completed, a menu of three choices is displayed. Choice #1: run the DOS Raid Management Utility for all DD3 products. Choice #2: run the DOS Raid Management Utility for DD3-EzCopy and Choice #3: is to exit the program. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the mirroring. When mirroring is completed, exit the DOS application and choose option #3 to exit. You may simply remove the CD and reboot the computer.

Firmware Upgrade

If you need to upgrade the firmware on your DD3 ISA product only, it is now possible to do this using your CD-ROM boot disk. The firmware upgrade 3.22 has been included on the CD. Please use this file (not the download from our site) to upgrade your firmware.

Note: when you choose the upgrade firmware, the following window appears: "Enter path for flash files:", please type "A:" and press enter. Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the firmware upgrade. When firmware upgrade is completed, exit the application and choose option #3 to exit. Remove the CD and reboot the computer.
